I love you I love

I love you I love the way your forehead wrinkles when you are nervous I love the way you have to think with your tongue out of your mouth I love the way your eyes twinkle just before you tell me you love me...

I love watching you play hide and go seek with all of the neighbourhood kids...
I love the way your glasses side down your nose when you read

I love the way you can make me laugh....and that is no easy task
I love to watch you with the children...the love you have for them shines from you...

I love the way you look when you have to use your power tools....aarrghhh..power
I love the way you always find a way to use your power tools

I love the way you love me
and I love the way i feel with you

Just as this ring circles eternally, so does my love for you
Continuous and strong
Never ending

Happy Birthday Keith!
(ps...how does 18 feel the second time around?)

I got a surprise when

I got a surprise when i went into to work the other night....One of the ladies i work with brought me in a whole bag of Ballet body suits for BUG! Her grand-daughter's had outgrown them and her daughter sent them in for my BUG to use.....I LOVE surprises like that! They sure will come in handy.

I have surprised a lot of people at work. Many still do not believe that i am leaving..since rumours fly around faster than Jeanne......many of my regular customers are very "disappointed", but for the most part they are very supportive....they want to know when i will be coming in to play...since it will be the first time in 12 years that i can play Bingo in my hall......I can't wait either. I promise I won't be one of those pain-in-the-butt customers.....And i will remember to tip the management staff..maybe i can start a trend in that way.

Beautiful weather today. I guess summer is finally making herself known....maybe she should have looked at the calendar. Someone else who is watching the calendar is Keith..You see he turns 18 in 2 more days. I think its a win-win situation. He gets to be 18..and i get an 18 year old man! ( not bad for someone who a few weeks ago was being called a grandmother!)

Off to cut the grass.....

Oh and GOOD SIS? Maybe if you let Peanut help in putting up the decorations she won't be as frightened of them.....That way she can see they really aren't scary..just cardboard and material......

AN update on my friend

AN update on my friend Jeff, the one who had to go to University hospital because his Kidney was not functioning....He will lose the kidney, it is dying. SO he has to go back on dialysis, and eventually back on the transplant list AGAIN. Why does such crappy stuff happen to the best of people? He should be coming home tomorrow.....His Mom and Dad have been making the 2 hour ( and 2 hrs back) commute to the hospital ...they are such wonderful people..it pains me to see them have to go through this AGAIN! So if you all wouldn't mind could you continue to keep them in your thoughts.....

Today i made the most

Today i made the most frightening phone call of my life. I called work, and told them of my intent to leave. I wrote a letter of resignation and am handing it in tonight when i go in to work. October 15 will be my last day. HOLY CRAP!!!!! Am i scared? Yep! Am i excited..YOU BET! I have spent the last few months trying to decide what will make me happy and i have come to the conclusion, after a great talk with a good friend that i have to stop trying to justify what i am about to do. I am not healthy, emotionally, physically or spiritually right now, and i need to get myself back. I feel like a giant rock has been lifted off my shoulders, and for the first time there seems to be a light at the end of the road...hell i can actually see the road, which has been unclear to me for a while now.

I am blessed in my life with a wondeful friend (who happens to also be my husband) who is supporting my decision. He is my strength, and i am sure that he would love to have the girl he married back in his life. I know I would like to know that girl again. I understand that stepping back in time is not possible, but i know that i can do with out the stress, and try to be a healthier, happier person, which in turn will enable me to be a better mother, wife and friend.

SO.... thank-you to all of you who have listened to me bounce back and forth on the idea of being a stay at home mom. Thank you to the people in my life who have helped me see that it is my choice to make.....and to help me see that making the choice doesn't mean I am selling out...or taking a backwards step.

Its a wonderful journey that i am about to embark on.....a road to discovery and happiness....and i can't wait to start on that road.

I think Keith has made

I think Keith has made up his mind about me staying home.....TWO nights in a row a big homecooked meal.....He says he could get used to me cooking everynight, and he could possibly gain back the weight that he has lost..... I keep telling him that he didn't lose it...I found it and am currently holding on to it for him....(yes that is why I appear to be gaining.....its not my extra weight, its his!...and that's my story and i'm sticking to it!)

Munch is not too happy about having to walk to school this week. He normally rides his bike, but it was stolen from our yard this past weekend. Now in the thief's defence I am sure that seeing an unlocked bike was too much of a temptation, and you were only looking out for Munch's well being....you know the roads can be very dangerous when you are on a bike. BUT the bike was but into our backyard, and nothing else was taken...What you didn't want the BBQ?

This was Munch's 3rd bike to be taken. The first 2 were taken from our old house, and yes, the first one was locked....they took it lock and all. The 2nd bike was one on loan to him because the other one was stolen...it to was locked in the back, but apparently not well enough. Bikes number 1 and 3 were ones that he had saved up his own money for. He is more upset this time because it was his own fault. Keith had asked him to but his bike away, and he took it into the backyard. Munch is really good about locking it up since he already has had bikes taken, but for some reason, whether he got busy and forgot, or just got too overconfident he didn't lock it up like he usually does. He went out to ride it on the weekend and it was gone.
At first Keith called me to see if I had moved it to teach Munch a lesson ( yes that is something I would do), but i had not. They went out and looked around the neighbourhood....talked to his friends to see if anyone had borrowed it and forgot to bring it back...but no luck.
So i spent the rest of the day trying to convince him that he wouldn't be riding much longer anyways since fall was coming and of course winter is not far behind it..He didn't buy it. So now he has to walk. We aren't going to get him a new one until spring, since he had almost outgrown this one and if we wait until spring we can get him one the right size..But in his own words...IT SUCKS!

Meet the teacher and new parent council tonight at the kids school. I am on the council this year..my first time at doing it. I decided that i would just have to make the time to do this sort of thing, and i had a great time at the first council meeting. I have a feeling i may have a lot of free time coming up this year and i haven't had the chance to do anything like this before because of my schedule....so..Harper Valley look out! ( i have always liked that song!)

Saw a sign on the way to work reminding me to order my Ham for Thanksgiving.....Already? Where did September go? Guess I should get my butt in gear and do some baking before the holiday gets here....and Good Sis if you read this...isn't it about time you made some of your scrumptious pumpkin pies??(HINT HINT)

When do you all start to get that Holiday Itch? ( if you do at all.)

Bug went to her first

Bug went to her first Ballet class Thursday night. Now before anyone accuses me of feeding into stereotypes...she really wanted to take karate too but is not old enough. Ever since she was able to talk she has asked to be a ballerina....she wanted a pink tutu and was upset that she can't go on pointe ( her brother can, its kind of freakish actually). So my little girl started ballet...without the tutu. We will be shopping for the frilliest girlly tutu you can find...'cause that is who she is....I have learned to embrace her girlly-ness..I can't say that i understand it..but i am learning to accept it, and learn from it.....

Munch went to his Karate class on Saturday.... and while he did that, Bug and I went to find the ballet shoes and frilly dance stuff.....OMG!!! I never realized how expensive this dance stuff is..I mean come on..30$ for a pair of slippers that she will outgrow by Christmas?? AND you can't get them used because they form to each persons feet........Not to mention the warm up skirt...we opted to not get the tu-tu and we got the silky scarf-like skirt instead...35$ for something that fits on my wrist??
But she does look cute in it..and it is NOT PINK! Its a deep royal purple...fit for the Princess that she is!

Munch was an unsuspecting victim of early Christmas shopping after he was done Karate...He wants to learn guitar. So under the guise of "killing time" we went looking at acoustic guitars. Keith and I have agreed to get him one, but he has to take lesson for a minimum of 2 yrs.......Sure wish he had picked an instrument that one of us already played..but I remember what is what like to want to play an instrument different than what your parents wanted you to play..My mother wanted me to play the flute..I wanted to play the sax..i of course won, but i remember how disappointed she was. I played the sax for 13 yrs...and eventually picked up the flute to, although i don't play it well. SO if its guitar he wants then its guitar he will learn...could be worse..he could want to play the TUBA ( with no disrespect meant to any tuba players out there!)

I am fighting off an awful cold, and Bug has it as well...I kept her home from school today, and we have just finished baking a surprise for Keith....Apple Crumble...one of his favourites! Since eating at home as a family is a treat, i thought we would have a nice big dinner..so its stuffed turkey breast with acorn squash and mashed potatoes...with home made crumble for desert! Its too bad it all tastes like cardboard to me right now!

I did read THE DA VINCI code on Friday like i had planned...all can say is WOW!
Since we are into the HOLY GRAIL and its legend from a historical point of view, it was interesting to see how Mr Brown went about unravelling his discoveries...It has led to some interesting discussions here at Wilsonworld...and some from the 9 yr olds point of view that i wasn't expecting!

Oven timer is going off so its back to the kitchen!

Only fair that i post one of Munch too!
I love this pic of him taken a few weeks ago...he looks so deep in thought!

If i could ask all of you for a favour....I have a friend who has had 2 kidney transplants..and he is having trouble again...He is on his way this morning to the transplant unit so they can find out what is wrong..but if they can't bring his levels back down again his kidneys will be permanently damaged....He is a great friend and a wonderful person and he could use some extra prayers right now..so if you all wouldn't mind adding Jeff to your thoughts I would really apreciate it!

I cannot put this book down...I am probably one of the only people to have not read THE DA VINCI CODE.. so i went and bought it..and Dan Browns first book ANGELS AND DEMONS.... Well i started A&D Wed. morning and it is a wonderful book...if Da Vinci Code is anything like this than i can see why it has become so well liked! A&D combines history, fiction, espienage (sp?), science and
religion...and i can't wait to finish it...only about 50 pages left....Who needs sleep? (yes it really is 2:20am!)

Has anyone else read this book? If so what did you think of it?

Bug and I found this great tree yesterday while we were out for a walk. We went back later to ask the owners permission to take some pics....keith thought i was nuts asking someone if i could take pics of their tree but since we are trying to teach Bug that everything she sees is NOT hers and you have to ask to use things that aren't yours, that it would be a good idea to practise what i am preaching!

The first day riding the bus both ways didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped. The bus once again did not have her listed as a pick-up, so Keith had to stop the bus by walking in front of it ( KIDS...DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!). The bus ride home was not much better. She is to be dropped off at 12:25pm, so I went out at 12:15 just in case they were early. EARLY??? What was i thinking? Bug arrived home at 1:05pm. Or if you were keeping track another way...After 3 phone calls to the bus company, each one a little more agitated than the first..1 call to the school and 1 call to the school board. This was my not yet 4 yr old daughter lost on a bus somewhere..actually she wasn't lost..the bus was! When she finally arrived the driver would not let her off until he knew who i was, and she identified me as MOM. ( Great job Busman! I am glad that you take the delivery of my children so seriously..i called your boss to say thanks!) He apologised for being late, and assured me that it was not the norm.
I hope not, since it would have been faster for me to walk her home from school.

We attended church services with THE GOOD SIS and her family on Sunday. Her kids were in a play put on by their church group. Yesterday after school I finally got the chance to talk to Munch about it. He enjoyed the service, although he said it was like a concert (might have been the brass band playing). He asked alot of questions about the make up of the church and we talked about the differences between our two religions.
I love his thirst for knowledge. I love the fact that I can sit with him and talk about theology and politics (obviously on a basic level, as he is only 9!) I also love the fact that he can look at a belief that may be a bit different than his own and accept it for what it is...simply a different belief...and that just because people have different beliefs doesn't make one neccessarily better than the other....

Off to catch up on some blogs...

Ok it happened AGAIN today!

Ok it happened AGAIN today! While dropping off Bug at school, a woman came up to me who used to work for me...She was excited to see me and remarked..AND LOOK AT US WE ARE BOTH GRANDMOTHERS NOW! Again, let me remind you that yes, many people my age are granparents...BUT I AM NOT!!!!!!! I think she must have had me confused with someone else...she remarked after meeting Bug..you must have waited a long time to have her......YEP PRETTY MUCH MY WHOLE LIFE!

One of the little girls in Bugs class while we were leaving today yelled out...BYE BUG SEE YA LATER! This will make it much easier if they all call her that..there is more than one child in her class with the same name as hers.

I am pleased to report that the new washer works really well..however i am hoping that i will find a dryer with a "fold your laundry "option!

Still no luck on the job front...but i am still looking...Keith and i are at the point of trying to figure out how long we could make it just on his salary.....We could do it if we didn't have to eat or have hydro.......

Enjoy your Friday!

PS...
Shelley...if you happened to have found a computer while on vacation...Hope you are having a great time and Happy Birthday to the Mister!!!!

There have been a few

There have been a few comments made to me in the past few days that have made me realize that i am not getting any younger. On Wednesday when i was walking Bug home from school, she tried to get out of the wagon. I told her she had to sit down while the wagon was moving, and from behind me I heard a woman's voice saying..'Yes Honey you have to sit while your Grandma is pulling the wagon"

GRANDMOTHER?????!!!!!!!!!!

I turned and smiled sweetly as the obviously visually impaired lady who was walking behind us...."Um I am the Mom, NOT the Grandma".
"oh", she chuckled...."its so hard to tell now a days".

Let me make something clear...My kids are young..I am not...HOWEVER...I do not look like a Grandmother...Yes I am almost 37 years old, and we do have friends that have Grandchildren...BUT PLEEZZZEEEE!

Also..
My biggest thrill today was the arrival and subsequent use of my new WASHING MACHINE! I realize that i am not getting younger when i am actually fidgety while waiting for the delivery guys to set up the machine....In my mind I am already reading the manual and lovingly filling the little spots with liquid bleach and soap...

Maybe I will join Keith in the refusal to grow any older...He has told all of his family and friends that he will be turning 18 on his birthday in a few weeks....I told him to grow up and get real, but I am thinking that he may be on to something.....18 year olds have no responsibility..can't smoke or drink....and still have their parents to pick up after them...hmmm maybe he really IS ON TO SOMETHING!!!!

Things you should look at...NOW!
