Some of you might remember

Some of you might remember lst year when i started up the JUNKYARD site. I had to take a little break from it..but it is back! Today, since Keri is blogging her little heart out..i thought it would be a great time to get the JunkYard open and give her a place to play..... SO if Poetry..or quick writing is your thing....come join us there

(this means YOU...and YOU...and YOU...and YOU TOO!!!!

It's BLOGATHON time. I am

It's BLOGATHON time. I am not taking part, but i do know someone who is! Since i don't have much to post about today...why don't you go and pay KERI a visit? She is blogging for The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Hudson, and let's face it..we all know someone who has been touched by this terrible disease. Go visit her, and while you are there, click on the sponsor link. If everyone donates just a few dollars...oh what a difference it can make!

Munch is home and I

Munch is home and I swear he grew in the week he was gone. He had a wonderful time with my Dad..and got to see factories where Pop cans are made..and the Bic pen factory, where the lovely ladies loaded him up with bic goodies! He kept a journal while he was gone, which i am sure he will enjoy looking back on years from now.

He also realized he had been to 5 NHL cities while he was gone.
Yep, that's my boy!

July 26, 2006

Yep, that is my Bug.

Yep, that is my Bug. We spent the day in the park and i brought my camera along....cause of course you can never have too many pics of sand castles and children! She is adjusting to Munch not being here, but when he called tonight she got a bit misty eyed. She still thinks it would be a great idea if i could just change her birthday so SHE could be the older one. Oh if it was that easy.

As i sat in the park watching her, i saw her grow.
I saw her birth, her toddler years..and suddenly i could see her going off to Univerisity...getting married and having children of her own.

I blinked, and it was just her..playing in the sand, building castles and trying to dig to Antartica.

When Munch called tonight he was on his way to North Carolina. He sounds like he is having the time of his life..and my Dad sounds like he is enjoying having someone in the truck with him. I am sure it must get lonely in the truck when you are by yourself all the time.

I guess they are growing up.
Guess its time for me to do the same...

right after i am done building my sand castle.

He looked so small sitting

He looked so small sitting up there in my Dad's Big Rig, but before I knew it they were pulling away. Munch is off for the week, travelling with Grandpa through the States. He was so excitied all week, i didn't think he would make it to today. Bug on the other hand sobbed as they pulled away. I thought it was because she couldn't go..but it was because Munch left her behind. She sobbed all the way home. Her poor little heart was breaking. And there was nothing i could do or say to make her feel better.

Shelley came down tonight and we had our game of scrabble on the porch.
It was a close game, but in the end she won again.
Yep, we really are party animals aound here.....

Oh, and a special note to the jerk who stole our lawnmower, weed whacker and 50 foot extension cord.........thanks!
Neither Keith or I really felt like mowing the lawn this weekend anyways...

This week, I am so

This week, I am so glad there is only 24 hours in a day...yet they seem to be oh-so-much-longer-than-that! In bullet form for you..... i present...... the week.......
  • Keith and I went to the Molly Hatchett concert, listened to some great music (Li'l Ed played before Molly) had a few cold ones and just enjoyed being out in public.
  • Monday morning, Keith left to go to work, and the car died. At the garage.
  • Cancelled docotor's appointment due to above mentioned car thing.
  • Can't get in now until end of August.
  • Bug's 7 year molars are half way in. Um.....she is 5....i swear i saw visions of a new summer home in my dentists eyes!
  • Mom came down and had her surgery. All is well and she is back at her own home now.
  • My Mom left Wednesday, and i miss her already!!!!
  • 32 entries to B4B!
  • Do you know how much reading is involved when there is 32 entries for B4B and you have to narrow it down to 7?
  • Kids-are-on-summer-vacation...NEED I SAY MORE?
  • My Father has decided to take Munch on a road trip. For a week.
  • Munch will be in a truck with my Dad for a week.
  • Workin on resumes, and still job hunting, which will be more difficult since the gaming industry just laid off 325 employees yesterday.
It is hot, muggy and generally yucky outside. I know that the heat wave will break..and i hope it is soon...cause it sucks the life right out of you and i have no energy to do much of anything.

Make sure you go and check out the seven finalists for B4B!
Next month it is packing its bags and returning back to ZERO BOSS, where it used to live.

Not old enough to go

Not old enough to go alone but old enough to complain that she DOES NOT want to go with Mommy she wants to go with THE BIG KIDS.

Too big to watch the cartoon movie
too young to go and see the one
he REALLY wants to see
Too cool to be seen with his PARENTS
too young to go there without them.

Too fragile to live alone
still "young enough at heart" to want it
too stubborn to accept it.

Big enough to see change is neccessary
too scared to make the changes.

Old enough to know better
Young enough to still want to do it anyways.

Together in a journey
On various points "between"
their destinations
Individuals
but together a family.

Since i couldn't enter B4B i decided to use it as a writing prompt.
This is what i came up with.

Have you done IT yet?

Have you done IT yet?

It's hot.
Really HOT..and HUMID
(Yes Mark, we in the GREAT WHITE NORTH do get hot)

But Sunday night Keith and i are going to be cool.....
Down by the river...
listening to these guys
at this.

We had to pick which artist we were going to see, since the media passes are only good for one day...but in the end we decided on them.

My Mom is coming down on Monday to have surgery done. Nothing life threatening, but it has to be NOW, so her doctor is sending her here. Odd, for anyone who knows the doctor situation in our city, but luckily her doctor has connections and got her in....otherwise she would have to wait until winter..and that was, according to her Doc...a REALLY BAD IDEA.

Kids are looking forward to her visit, and Bug plans to play nurse-maid.

Monday i finally get to see the specialist about my hearing loss.... hopefully there will be some answers....

Off now, before i melt into the keyboard.
