Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat!
Now that Bug's birthday has come and gone, we can get down to the business of CHRISTMAS!
If you have been reading me for a while, you know that this is my favourite time of year.
It is time to start pulling out the ornaments and other decorations, and deciding on when and where to get our tree.
Tree picking is something i take VERY seriously...it is not something to be entered into lightly.
It has to be strong enough to hold the antique ornaments from my grandmothers, but not too bulky.
Tall enough to command attention, but short enough that we can reach to put my angel on the top.
In choosing a tree, i take all of these things into consideration, but most of all i wait for the tree to choose me.
Yes, i am the tree whisperer. Our Christmas tree will let me know that IT is the one that is meant to come home with us.
I cannot explain how, or why..but it will talk to me.
Bug seems to have inherited this gift as well, but last year she was only able to hear the "charlie brown" trees. This year i am hoping that her gift has developed a bit more. It takes a lot to nurture this gift, and i would love to have some help in the tree picking duties. The men in the house don't seem to have "the gift" and would be happy with taking the first tree they see.
One year i had Keith go to 8 different places, as none of the trees were very talkative that year.
Bless his heart for 17 years ago understanding that when i said picking a tree is an all day affair i meant it.
Also ready to make an appearance is my grandmother's manger. I have spoken of it before..HERE. This year she may be coming here for Christmas dinner and i am excited to have her see it in it's new home.
What Christmas decorations hold a special place in your heart?
