Today you are 14.
FOURTEEN.
How did this happen?
I swear that it was only yesterday that I was in the hospital, looking at you wondering if you would be ok. We had matching IV's and all I really saw of you at first was those huge feet of yours.
I remember holding you for the first time, and wondering if you could ever know how much I loved you.
The thought of you walking, talking and growing was so far away...
but the time passed quickly.
People tried to tell me that you would grow fast, and to remember "these days" as they would be gone before I knew it. I didn't believe them.
But, they were right.
Here we are fourteen years later, and you stand before me a young man.
SO proud, kind, sincere..everything that a Mother could hope her child to become..and so much more.
Your love of history, politics, and the events that happen around you fill my heart with pride. You care about others, you want to help all that you can...these are qualities that will serve you well as you travel down your own path.
I am so proud of the man you are becoming...but a little piece of me misses the child you were.
I still see him every once in a while, and it makes me both happy and sad at the same time.
Happy fourteenth birthday Munch....I love you forever, I love you for always, as long as you're living my baby you'll be.....(from Robert Munch's Book...I'll love you forever)
